Crate Soul Brothers newsletter #101: Reboot the System

Newsflash 2. April 2003

The world’s gone mad and we don’t see the way out…

… and we don’t even have much time to think about it. Heavy work as always, but now there’s some reason. We already had three shows in the air and thanks to the never ending help of a few people of the radio the programmes can be listened to all around Budapest.

Now it seems that we manage to finish another remix – it took ages as usual. We don’t want to reveal yet which was the original tune, but you can listen to the result in one of our next shows for sure. So watch out! And if you let us to do some more shameless self-promotion: we can’t tell with words how glad we are that our latest remix for Arkestra One has been played by so many djs around the world. Please check the whole compilation if you can.

And a few more URLs: a blog for our radio show has started (no finished design yet, but strictly words: http://blog.tilos.hu/cratesoul) where you can read the playlists online while listening the show live (and even after). For the freaks who don’t want to write an email to us but has something to say there’s a forum too. Please drop some lines if you have time to show that our programme is listened worldwide.

In the next radio show (Thursday evening) we'll try to catch the Gotan Project guys on phone as they'll play live in Budapest on next Wednesday, 9th April.

We had a sleepy winter regarding gigs but there are some developments. Scroll down in the next newsletters to see where we will play next weeks in Budapest and all around…

OK, we promise now we’ll forget this kind of promo stuff for a while. We rather write down the lyrics of a classic tune as this newsletter’s short reading. Some things never change…

Coldcut: Boot The System

Ooh yeah, Genocide, Genocide. It's Murder in Nigeria
Slaughter in East Timor Chaos in Cambodia
Oh why do our goverments promote war.
Genocide, ooh yeah, Genocide.

Oppose the systems, oppose the system
Oppose the systems, oppose the system
Babylon System, babylon system, in the end must fail.

Weapons they sell, well well they sell
Death that they recklessly sell
To make this whole planet hell
Weapons they sell. Genocide.

Oppose the systems, oppose the system
Babylon System, babylon system, in the end must fail.
Genocide System, genocide system, in the end must fail.

[Tony Benn]
Thee issue that you are raising is of enormous importance for the future of human race - it goes beyond the genocide in East Timor, beyond the whole question of British complicity into the effect of the arms rade on world peace...peace...peace...

Reboot the system till next time!
